Interieurs van herrijzend Nederland 1940-1965. Binnenruimten van een opkomende welvaartsstaat biedt een overzicht van de monumentale binnenhuiskunst tot de toevallig ontstane interieurs uit de wederopbouwperiode. Het boek bevat beknopte essays over de voornaamste ontwikkelingen, thematische hoofdstukken over kleur, materialen, comfort en techniek en honderden afbeeldingen. In korte tijd wist Nederland te herstellen van de enorme oorlogsschade. Na een moeilijke start van schaarste kwamen er tussen 1945 en 1965 meer dan 2,5 miljoen nieuwe bouwwerken bij. De bijbehorende binnenruimten waren veelzijdig in vormgeving voor wonen en werken, leren en kerken, winkelen en ontspannen. Dankzij overheidssteun voor standaardisatie en mechanisatie werd snelle en massale productie mogelijk van gebouwen, meubels en materialen voor de aankleding van de interieurs. Goed Wonen werd een begrip. Intussen wordt het steeds moeilijker om nog volledig originele interieurs uit het midden van de twintigste eeuw te vinden.
